Upgrade PCS7 and library

For Sonac Vuren, in collaboration with the central OT (Operational technology) department and the local OT engineer, we migrated their entire PCS7 system to the latest V9.1 version and integrated it on Darling Ingredients' virtual platform.

Additional engineering environment set up

We also split their application across a dual redundant server pair, and set up an additional engineering environment. This reduced the dependence on plant downtime for making changes and allowed the local OT engineer to work on the systems themselves. In parallel with the projects carried out by system integrators.

Eliminate customization

The previous application contained customization from a previous project. We managed to eliminate that as much as possible, so that Sonac is not dependent on System Integrators who have built specific customizations. To record everything, we also integrated an Aveva Historian and a reporting server with the central OT department. As a result, Sonac employees are able to analyze their own data and create reports themselves.

Easier migration
Sonac's system is ready for the future and from now on can also migrate more easily to upcoming PCS7 versions in-house. Darling Ingredients' products are used as natural ingredients for food, animal feed, pharmaceuticals, technical applications, fertilizers and bioenergy.
