The report provides insight into how many breakdowns have occurred, for example. By analyzing the data, the technical department determines whether these were exceptional interruptions to the production process or the result of repairs or maintenance. The production department also receives a specific report, as does, for example, quality control. The purpose of this service is that the information provided contributes to the improvement process and also the planned maintenance can be coordinated by the customer himself.
At Sonac, this tool is used to full satisfaction. The advantage of our initiative is that the bone processing company itself can start working with the points for improvement that our report provides. We have already identified the source cause of the failures.
With the help of a historical database combined with use of the Siemens PCS7 system, users of the tool are largely self supporting in improving their processes. Implementation of the tool is a day's work. Should the reporting reveal bottlenecks that cannot be solved by the client themselves, we will be ready to deploy our expertise. Meanwhile several - large - parties, such as FrieslandCampina, are satisfied customers.
