Process Translators visit AVEVA World

AVEVA World 2026 took place in Milan. Erik van de Wetering and Martijn Bindels attended the event in northern Italy as Prospact Process Translators. For Prospact, the visit was valuable because it combined knowledge sharing, networking, and insight into the latest developments in industrial software, data, and AI.

The international event took place from 19 to 21 May. Erik explains what Prospact gained from attending.

Annual user conference

AVEVA’s annual user conference was also a good opportunity for Erik to connect with his network from his new role as Partner Manager. Many people had already seen his move to Prospact on LinkedIn, but the event allowed him to explain it personally.

Erik says: “It was also valuable for Martijn to get to know the international AVEVA network together with me.” He continues: “The value of an event like AVEVA World is roughly half gaining knowledge and half networking.”

“It goes beyond presentations or product information. The conversations with product teams, software developers, AVEVA contacts, partners and users from different countries are precisely what make the event practically relevant. They give you a better understanding of the vision, challenges, and concrete applications in practice!”

Erik: “A good example of an important development like this is AVEVA CONNECT. The platform is becoming increasingly mature, and AVEVA is clearly making major progress with it. CONNECT is developing into a robust platform for data integration, collaboration and sharing, amongst other things.”

That creates new opportunities for Prospact. “Especially because industrial automation and digitalisation increasingly depend on collecting, structuring, and unlocking data properly,” Erik explains. AI also played a major role. Erik sees AI mainly as a technology that can improve processes and change the way people work.

Erik: “In practice, AI only adds value when the underlying data is correct.” That is precisely where he sees a clear role for Prospact. “As Process Translators, we can help clients structure their data properly and configure their systems in the right way, so they can make optimal use of new AI possibilities.”

“Besides the technological developments, the practical examples were especially valuable,” Erik says. International use cases give you the opportunity to ask direct questions about the approach, challenges, and results. “Before you know it, you’re exchanging ideas with users from South Africa or France!”

He concludes: “The main gains from AVEVA World for us were new knowledge about developments such as AVEVA CONNECT and AI, the strengthening of our international network, and concrete insights from practical cases!”
