Meet senior software engineer Danny

January 23rd, 2026

Prospact - Danny van Dooren

The year has started with a fresh new beginning for Danny van Dooren. As of January 1, Danny has joined our team of process translators as a senior software engineer. With his broad experience in industrial automation and his focus on quality, standardization, and structure, he brings a valuable combination of knowledge and insight to the table.

In this interview, Danny introduces himself and talks about his background, his work, and his ambitions.

Engineer in industrial automisation

Danny graduated from Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda, where he studied electrical engineering with a specialization in industrial automation. After graduating, he held various roles within this field, including control engineer and lead engineer. “I have been active in industrial automation since 2005 and have always worked on the software side, from designing and developing to commissioning systems. Over the years, this has increasingly involved an advisory role.”

Broad role

In his previous positions, Danny not only worked on technical solutions, but was also involved in supervising colleagues. He coached starting engineers on a technical level, provided training in software standardization, and provided substantive input on technical issues.

“My role at Prospact combines these activities. Officially, I am a senior software engineer, but I am also deployed as a lead engineer and advisor. That means designing and specifying, developing software, commissioning, and contributing technical ideas to customers and sales.”

Standardization and cybersecurity

In addition to his daily work, Danny has a keen interest in standardization and cybersecurity. He continues: "Good standards ensure quality and peace of mind in projects. That's something I value highly. The same applies to cybersecurity. Nowadays, this is an indispensable part of industrial automatisation. I was already working on this actively at my previous employer, together with Louis Priem, by the way!"

Switch to Prospact

Louis also played a role in Danny's decision to join Prospact. “What immediately appealed to me was the way Prospact looks at technology. Initially, the conversations were not directly about job functions or expectations, but in an informal way about content, vision and quality in relation to technology.”

The working methods and culture were also decisive factors. “At Prospact, it's all about delivering well-thought-out solutions. Always and everywhere. The passion for technology and the informal, close-knit atmosphere immediately appealed to me. The human side really takes center stage here.”

More with MES

Danny is clear about his ambitions. “First, I want to get to know Prospact well and work on exciting, challenging projects. After that, I want to further develop my technical skills, for example in PCS7. I might also eventually want to branch out into MES software solutions. My experience in that area is still limited, but I've always been interested. And Prospact has that expertise in-house!”

Enjoying life to the fullest

Danny is 41 years old, lives in Etten-Leur, near Breda, and works alternately at the office and from home. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family. “I have a partner and three daughters, who take up a lot of my free time.” He also enjoys the good life, watching movies and series, and regularly plays padel with friends or family.
