prospact koert

After a year on secondment, Koert Kant officially joined us on 1 April as Senior MES Automation Engineer. The move to permanent employment was a logical and welcome step. In this interview, Koert introduces himself and talks about his work, background and ambitions.

With his mix of technical depth, commitment and hands-on approach, Koert is a perfect fit for Process Translator!

A broad view of technology

Koert is a true technician with a passion for the big picture. “I started out as a PLC engineer, but I always wanted to have more insight into the whole process. Now I mainly focus on MES and ERP systems that control production processes.” His technical experience is broad: from PLC to MES solutions and everything in between. “I want to know how something works, why it works the way it does and how it can be improved. That mystery, that’s where I get my energy from.”

Deliberate move

Last year, Koert worked with us as a secondee. He liked the atmosphere and culture here. “It is relatively small, involved and really collegial. You know everyone, work together and help each other. That immediately felt good. I rarely experienced that in other companies.” So when the opportunity came up to become a permanent employee, he didn’t have to think twice.

Sharing knowledge and improving systems

Koert has ambitious plans for the future. “I want to share my knowledge with younger colleagues and at the same time contribute to the standardisation of MES solutions. There is a lot to be gained from developing reusable modules. This will allow us to implement systems at customer sites faster and more efficiently.” With many years of experience with AVEVA solutions, Koert is a valuable addition to our growing MES team.

Technology in his blood

With a background in lts, mts and hts, Koert is a man of practice. “I bite into something until it works. Whether it's a production line or a broken TV at home: I find out how it works and fix it.” This curiosity runs deep: from father to son. “My father used to tinker with photocopiers, and my 12-year-old son takes apart game console controllers. It’s in our blood!”

Living, working and leisure

Koert is 41 years old, married and the father of three children, including twins. “We live in Woudrichem, which is quite close to work. In my spare time, I play football, go fishing with my young son and follow Formula 1.” He continues: “And housework! I do that too. From renovating attics to soldering circuit boards, I like to do it all myself.”

He concludes: “Here I can use my knowledge, follow my curiosity and work in an environment where people are central. This makes the move very natural for me.” Wondering how you can take your career to the next level? Then take a look at our vacancies.
