On 1 April, Jantine van Zandwijk celebrated five years of officially being employed at Prospact. In reality, her involvement goes back much further. “When my brother Bastiaan started Prospact, he soon asked me to help with administrative tasks and the things he had less of a feel for himself!”

That was ten years ago. What began as informal support alongside her job at Rabobank grew together with the Process Translators.

Broad support role

Jantine: “Five years ago, we made my role official, with the approval of my other employer. I sincerely appreciate their cooperation! And that also means I have now received one of those lovely and funny anniversary cartoons on canvas!” In practice, Jantine combines her 24-hour-per-week role at Rabobank with a broad support role at Prospact. “It’s the ideal combination!”

Flexible contribution

“As a ‘Process Translator’, I have the freedom to organise my hours flexibly and tailor my work to whatever is needed at that moment,” she says. “At Prospact, I’m involved in all kinds of things: from financial administration, payroll processing and tax returns to HR-related matters and organising outings and activities.”

All-round, practical and organised

Jantine: “All-round, practical and organised is the best way to describe it. While Bastiaan thinks big and looks ahead, I make sure things are arranged in practice. I’m the one focused on execution: the details, the planning and the organisation. For example, with team activities such as Sinterklaas, Christmas gifts, outings and the summer barbecue, I’m often the driving force behind the scenes.”

Growth and professionalisation

Over the past few years, Jantine has clearly seen Prospact grow and professionalise. “I have noticed that development in my own work too. Processes are becoming more complex, and because the team is growing, I now spend much more time on things like payroll administration, VAT returns and parental leave arrangements. But that variety and the opportunity to develop myself are precisely what I enjoy and find challenging.”

Open and approachable

What, in her view, has remained unchanged and continues to set Prospact apart is its open and approachable culture. “Everything can be discussed and a lot is possible. Despite the growth, the atmosphere remains informal and close-knit. Everyone easily walks into each other’s office, and at lunch we all sit down together. It’s important that new colleagues feel comfortable within our company culture. I truly feel like a full part of the team!”

Complementing each other well

Jantine: “Working with Bastiaan is important too. As brother and sister, we complement each other well. We basically never argue: he thinks big and I provide the practical translation. Sometimes we disagree, but we always work with the same goal in mind: what’s best for Prospact.” She concludes: “For me, that mutual bond of trust forms a strong foundation to continue in this way for many years to come!”
