Prospact - Skye schroeten

Skye Schroeten is a third-year student at Avans University of Applied Sciences in Den Bosch. He completed an internship with us a few months ago. His assignment was to modernise a test setup from his school that had been temporarily installed at our office, which was a specific and challenging task. Skye migrated the operating system to PCS neo. His work focused primarily on software and documentation.

Here, he talks about his internship and how he carried out his assignment.

Technical immersion

“It was a tangible, physical setup where my work yielded immediate, visible results. I formulated the assignment in consultation with my teacher and the Process Translators. This allowed me to immerse myself technically and work in a structured manner at the design level.”

Working independently

Skye: “I worked very independently on my assignment. I received guidance when necessary.” He enjoyed this approach: “I had the freedom and trust to come up with solutions myself. Meanwhile, they contributed ideas and monitored my progress.”

Challenging content

“The internship was quite challenging in terms of content”, says Skye. “But above all, it was educational! I learned to work with PCS neo and took responsibility for the project. That’s why I’m very satisfied with the result. This internship has definitely helped me grow in terms of knowledge, independence, and approach!”

Positive assessment

Skye started his internship immediately after the summer holidays and will finish it at the end of January. “I worked on my assignment five days a week, mostly at Prospact in Boxtel.” This involved quite a journey from his home in Stramproy, near Weert. “My report has been assessed positively. I just have to present my work orally.”

Small-scale and personal

“I am looking forward to a future in this field”, Skye concludes. “I certainly don't rule out the possibility of working as a Process Translator later on. The small-scale and personal nature of the work really appeals to me! But first, I have another year and a half of studying ahead of me, during which I want to explore as many options as possible.”
