Prospact - Alpe d'HuZes 2026

Alpe d’HuZes has traditionally been an important event for Prospact. On 4 June, Bastiaan will take on the Alpine giant as a runner. “Last time I made it up three times, and that is my goal again this year!” Since their father and husband passed away from cancer ten years ago, the event is an intense experience for Bastiaan, his sisters and his mother.

As Prospact, we have been involved as a sponsor since Bastiaan and his sister Jantine first took part eight years ago.

Mothers and sisters

“My sisters and mother have been involved in Alpe d’HuZes for years,” Bastiaan explains. “Walking and volunteering. I think it is very special to be doing this with my family now.” Their group is much larger than just their mother and Jantine’s husband. “We are taking part as team ‘Herwijnen_goes_ad6’.”

Big Challenge

The team is affiliated with Big Challenge, an initiative from the agricultural sector. Within that structure, the group is part of Team De Heus. Bastiaan: “My brother-in-law works in that industry, and we have been connected to this initiative as a sponsor for years.” They have now raised an impressive amount for cancer research.

Important research

“But of course, every contribution is still very welcome, because research is incredibly important!” Personal motivation plays a major role. “Our father passed away from cancer ten years ago, but sadly, everyone knows someone, directly or indirectly, who has been affected by this disease.”

Many initiatives

Together with the team, they have organised many activities over the past year to raise as much money as possible. “Joey and his wife held a Health Challenge at their gym in Herwijnen. There was also a live music evening, a wheel of fortune and many more initiatives! The total has now passed fifty thousand euros!”

Commitment from volunteers

Bastiaan: “Jantine, who also works with us, will be walking up the mountain, and my sister and mother will be volunteering: providing participants with food and drinks along the way. I think it is wonderful and meaningful that we can do this as a family. Sport, family, volunteering and social commitment all come together!”

Training in between work

In between his busy work schedule, Bastiaan has done everything he can to start his challenge fit and well-prepared. “I have spent time on the treadmill and covered plenty of ‘kilometres’. It is also a good sign that I can ‘let go’ of Prospact for a week for this important cause: over the past few years, we have reached the point where business simply continues as usual!”
